Fr. Ambrose Little, O.P., Appointed Director of the Thomistic Institute

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 1, 2025 — The Thomistic Institute is pleased to announce that Fr. Ambrose Little, O.P., has been appointed Director of the Institute, effective July 1, 2025. The news follows the recent announcement that Fr. Dominic Legge, O.P., who has served as Director since 2018, has been named the new President of the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception (PFIC) at the Dominican House of Studies.

Having served as Assistant Director of the Thomistic Institute since January 2022, Fr. Ambrose brings with him a deep familiarity with the TI’s operations, along with a strong academic background, extensive teaching experience, and a longstanding commitment to the mission of promoting Catholic truth in the contemporary world.

“Fr. Ambrose is a superb teacher and scholar, an excellent leader, and a great brother and friend. For the past three years, he has served as Assistant Director of the TI, and I’ve been deeply impressed by what I’ve seen. He is going to be dynamite at the helm of the TI,” said Fr. Dominic.

Fr. Dominic offered a personal reflection on his time at the helm of the Institute: “Working at the TI has been, for me, one of the best things that has happened since my priestly ordination. I love it—and I love all the students, speakers, alumni, staff, and donors who make our work possible. What a privilege it has been to be part of such a fabulous mission.”

Fr. Ambrose said that he is honored to take the helm.

“It’s been a blessing to serve the TI all these years, and I am honored to take on this new role in service to God and His Church. Under Fr. Dominic’s leadership, our institution has experienced enormous growth, and I’m excited to bring the beauty of the Catholic intellectual tradition to even more souls.”

Fr. Gregory Pine, O.P., will continue in his role as Assistant Director of the Thomistic Institute, ensuring continuity and the continued expansion of the Institute’s work across universities, the Church, and the wider public square.
