About the speaker:
P. Rupert Mayer, OP is Priest at the Dominican Priory of Vienna and visiting professor at the Franciscan University of Steubenville’s program in Gaming, Austria. He entered the Dominican Order in 1987 and was ordained a priest in 1994. Before joining the order, he studied mechanical engineering at the Technische Universität München, earning a Diplom-Ingenieur. He served as Assistant Novicemaster and Novicemaster from 1999 to 2002, Prior of the Dominicans at Santa Maria Rotunda in Vienna from 2004-2011, and Regent of Studies and Socius of the Prior Provincial from 2011-2015. In 2002 he received his doctorate in Theology from the University of Fribourg. Fr. Rupert served as assistant professor for Dogmatic Theology at International Theological Institute in Trumau, Austria from 2002-2011, and Professor for Fundamental Theology from 2011-2015. He received his habilitation from the University of St. Georgen (Frankfurt) in 2020. From 2018 to 2023 he taught for Franciscan University of Steubenville (Dogmatic Theology and Christian Philosophy). In 2024, he returned to the International Theological Institute.
