About the speaker:

Fr. Raphael Mary Salzillo, O.P., is a priest of the Dominican Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, in the Western United States. He grew up on the Oregon Coast as an evangelical protestant and converted to Catholicism while he was in High School. He went on to study applied physics for seven years in California before entering the Dominican Order and beginning his philosophical and theological studies at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology (DSPT) in Berkeley, CA. He was ordained a priest in 2009 and, after three years working in campus ministry in Seattle, completed a PhD in philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. He taught for several years at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, before returning as a professor to the DSPT in Berkeley, where he has taught since 2023.
