About the speaker:

Fr. Sam Conedera, S.J. is Assistant Professor of History at Saint Louis University. He holds a PhD in history from UCLA, an MA in philosophical resources from Fordham University, and a BA in sacred theology from Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He is the author of Ecclesiastical Knights. The Military Orders in Castile, 1150-1330 (2015, Fordham University Press), and Alfonso Salmerón (1515-85) on the Scriptures (Forthcoming, Durham University Press).

His research interests include medieval Spain, philosophy and theology, and Jesuit intellectual history. His current research is focused on Pedro de Ribadeneyra, S.J., Jesuits and crusading, and Jesuit liturgy.
