About the speaker:
Catherine Ruth Pakaluk (pronounced: "pa-kholy-uk") is Associate Professor of Political Economy and Social Thought at the Catholic University of America. She is author of the forthcoming book Hannah's Children: The Women Quietly Defying the Birth Dearth from Regnery Gateway in March on the nature of religious childbearing. She was the 2015 recipient of the Acton Institute’s Novak Award, and this year a recipient of the Heritage Foundation's Freedom and Opportunity Prize. Pakaluk earned her doctorate in economics at Harvard University, and is a widely-admired writer and sought-after speaker on family, education, culture, social science, and the work of Edith Stein. She lives in Maryland with her husband Michael and six of their eight children.
