About the Speaker:
Father Columba Thomas is a Dominican friar of the Province of Saint Joseph and a physician specializing in Internal Medicine. He was ordained a priest in 2023, served as hospital chaplain over the past year for the Dominican Healthcare Ministry (DHM) in New York City, and now is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Georgetown in the Pellegrino Center for Clinical Bioethics and Director of Bioethics at DHM. He has studied Catholic bioethics at the Dominican House of Studies, Georgetown University, and the Catholic University of America. His publications appear in a variety of medical and bioethics journals, with a particular emphasis on end-of-life care. He is editor of The Art of Dying: A new, annotated translation (National Catholic Bioethics Center, 2021).
