About the speaker:

Professor Thomas Dandelet earned his B.A. from St. John’s University in Minnesota where he studied history and theology. He then studied the history of Christianity at Princeton Theological Seminary where he received his Masters degree. His Ph. D. in history from UC Berkeley followed. The focus of his research, writing, and publications is the long Renaissance in Italy and Spain with special attention to the intersections of politics, culture, society and religion from 1350-1700. His books include “Spanish Rome, 1500-1700” and “The Renaissance of Empire in Early Modern Europe.”
