Our guest speaker, Dr. Hochschild, is the Monsignor Robert R. Kline Professor of Philosophy at Mount St. Mary’s University, where he also served as the inaugural Dean of the College of Liberal Arts from 2009-2015. His primary research is in medieval philosophy, especially logic and metaphysics, with broad interest in liberal education and the continuing relevance of the Catholic intellectual tradition.  He is the author of The Semantics of Analogy: Rereading Cajetan’s De Nominum Analogia (University of Notre Dame Press, 2010) and co-editor of two volumes on moral philosophy: Virtue’s End: God in the Moral Philosophy of Aristotle and Aquinas, and Ethics Without God? The Divine in Contemporary Moral and Political Thought (St. Augustine’s Press, 2008).  Most recently, he is co-author of A Mind at Peace: Reclaiming an Ordered Soul in the Age of Distraction (2017).
