About the Speaker:

Dr. Paul Symington is a Professor of Philosophy at Franciscan University of Steubenville. He has given several presentations for the Thomistic Institute on topics including "A Defense of Freewill," "The Nature of Reality," and "The Dignity of the Human Person." He has also delivered papers at the University of Oxford, the American Catholic Philosophical Association, and the American Philosophical Association. His research mainly focuses on the philosophy of Aquinas, medieval philosophy, and contemporary metaphysics and has published a book and over 14 academic articles in various journals and edited books. He was the inaugural Dean of the School of Theology and Philosophy at Franciscan University and the General Editor for the philosophy journal Quaestiones Disputatae, with 7 issues published under his editorship. He is happy to have pivoted from administrative duties to resume writing and presenting on various themes within the great Catholic intellectual tradition.
