Lecture Description:

This lecture will discuss the real basis of belief, its reasonableness, the inescapable involvement of modern science (and other discourses) in belief. It will also treat the special case of Christian religious belief. It will conclude with a few brief remarks on the problem of plausibility and "horizon," and the wisdom that comes from love.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Jeremy Wilkins is an associate professor of theology at Boston College. His research interests include the work of Bernard Longergan and Thomas Aquinas. He recently edited two volumes: "Grace and Friendship: Theological Essays" and "The Incarnate Word" by Bernard Lonergan.
