A FREE WEEKEND RETREAT FOR UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS

St. Albert the Great Priory | Oakland, California

Beginning in the 4th century, a number of men and women left their cities and traveled into the wilderness, prompted by the Holy Spirit to seek the Lord in a new and austere way. The desert fathers and mothers, as they came to be called, would develop a unique understanding of the human person and the possibility of intimacy with God.

This retreat offers a window into the soul of desert spirituality, giving participants the opportunity to draw from one of the Church's richest storehouses of insight on the identity of the human person and the union of the soul with the living God.

The retreat will have seminars and discussions framed by the traditional elements of a retreat (Mass, adoration, the Divine Office, etc.). It begins on Friday, April 1st and concludes on Sunday, April 3rd.

Presenters:

  • Fr. Gabriel O’Donnell, O.P. (The Dominican House of Studies)

  • Sr. Maria Kiely, O.S.B. (Catholic University of America)

Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, this retreat is offered free of charge. Additionally, a limited number of modest travel scholarships are available for those in need.
