Cedarbrake Renewal Center | Belton, Texas

Death is a many-faced mystery. A consequence of sin, it is a disruption, an enemy that confronts man and fills him with fear and uncertainty. Death also gives a particular urgency to our life, prompting us to consider the limited time we have to discover and embrace the truth that brings us to fulfillment. Conquered by Jesus Christ, death becomes gain for the Christian, the entryway into eternal life. “The saying is sure: if we have died with him, we will also live with him” (2 Timothy 2:11). For those who have been baptized into Christ’s death and resurrection, death opens up the way to Heaven, “the ultimate end and fulfillment of the deepest human longings, the state of supreme, definitive happiness” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 1024). Come on this retreat to join the Thomistic Institute in pondering the meaning of death and eternal life.

The retreat will have seminars and discussions framed by the traditional elements of a retreat (Mass, adoration, the Divine Office, etc.). The event is primarily for current university students and young adults in Texas and surrounding states.
