FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC, September 3, 2024 – The Thomistic Institute is profoundly honored to receive the Catholic Information Center’s (CIC) John Paul II New Evangelization Award.

The award will be presented at the Thirteenth Annual John Paul II New Evangelization Award Gala on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the JW Marriott Washington, DC.

The John Paul II New Evangelization Award celebrates individuals and organizations that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to proclaiming Christ to the world. This year’s gala will highlight the extraordinary contributions of both the Thomistic Institute and the CIC in promoting Catholic truth in contemporary society by strengthening spiritual and intellectual formation in universities, the workplace, the Church, our nation’s capital, and the wider public square.

“We are deeply honored by this award, and are grateful to be partners with the CIC in its mission of bringing the truths of the faith to the heart of Washington, DC,” said Father Dominic Legge, O.P., Director of the Thomistic Institute.

“This award, and the growth in the impact of the Thomistic Institute that it signals, testify to the power of the truths of the faith to bring souls to Christ, following the inspiration of the life and teaching of Pope St. John Paul II."

Father Thomas Joseph White, O.P., Founding Director of the Thomistic Institute and Rector Magnificus at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas (Angelicum) in Rome, along with Father Dominic Legge, O.P., Director of the Thomistic Institute and Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception, will accept the award and deliver remarks.

The evening’s festivities will include dinner, a reception, and a concert with the Hillbilly Thomists.
