14th Annual Aquinas Philosophy Workshop
CALL FOR PAPERS
DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 28, 2025
The Thomistic Institute invites graduate students in philosophy, theology, religious studies, medieval studies, and related disciplines to submit papers for our 14th Annual Aquinas Philosophy Workshop.
A select panel of graduate student papers will take place during the workshop.
We invite papers related to the philosophical consideration of Nature and the Natural. Papers may address this topic from a variety of perspectives, such as ‘What makes a law natural?’, ‘Why is virtue natural?’, or ‘How is the natural different from the artificial?’. We welcome submissions from the perspective of the history of philosophy as well as analytic philosophy in a variety of subdisciplines, such as metaphysics, natural philosophy, ethics, political philosophy, etc. We will privilege papers that relate to the theme of nature and the natural, but will also consider papers on other themes.
Please note that this event provides an opportunity to workshop papers. While we ask that you submit complete papers, note that these need not be polished or finished versions of your paper. At the conference, note that we expect you will be presenting sections of your paper upon which you would like to receive feedback. Presenters will have the opportunity to share their full paper with attendees prior to the workshop.
Papers should be submitted for consideration by Friday, February 28 using the form below. Decisions on papers will be made and invitations to present will be sent in March.
